Training modules are intended to serve as student workbooks for use by approved training sponsors to develop pre-certification classroom training. However, we do occasionally distribute these modules directly to non-certified operators for use as self-study guides for the certification exams. Please be aware that this is not the intended purpose for which these modules were developed and their effectiveness as self-study guides has not been evaluated.
Note to training providers: These modules consist of training 'content' only, and are not considered to be approved training courses worth credit for Pennsylvania water and wastewater operators unless an approved training sponsor submits a training course application to Pa. DEP and obtains approval for a training course. You may use these content modules for individual courses. You may also combine modules and add content, exercises, quizzes or other relevant information to them. You should not delete content, because these modules contain important information that is found in the operator certification tests. The length of most of these modules as stand-alone courses varies from 2-5 hours. The financial/managerial modules average 1-1.5 hours. Actual course length will depend upon delivery methods and the use of supplemental content, exercises and quizzes by the sponsor. For more information, click here.
